Had Yao
Had Yao or Long Beach
|
Had Yao or Long Beach is Krabi’s next big thing, set for major development. Located across the river to the southeast of Krabi Town, this large and almost completely flat peninsula has a 10 kilometer logn beach and I s just 25 minutes from Krabi’s international airport and 40 minutes from Krabi Town and Ao Nang.
Up to recent years, Had Yao was a rather poor, underdeveloped and isolated area with a very low population of peaceful local fishermen communities concentrated in a few scattered villages, and some rubber and oil palm plantations. Longtail boat building used to be one of the major activities of locals. The area is still naturally unspoiled and provides an excellent gateway break for those who seek ultimate relaxation in tranquility. Had Yao beach sand is brown-grey and perhaps not so appealing, but it is a great beach for families with kids since the water is very shallow for a long way out. Great for those morning walks! The views are excellent, facing Phi Phi Island to the west and the mountains around Railay to the north.
